This is a challenge to the idea of perfection by mass-manufactured goods. Each layer is made parametrically by a plotter robot. It is an ephemeral piece that was dissolved in the video above, showing an accelerated timeline of the existience of these commodities that we, as individuals and a culture, hold so dearly.

This is a bit of a crappy photo, but here's the completed plotter robot I designed for this piece. It packs down into a poster tube (that is apparently fine to take through TSA) and runs on a linux distribution designed for 3D printers (mainsail)
